Here is a Example of Setting the Oracle Database in archivelog mode with one of the destination as FRA
FRA refers to Flash back recovery area and is denoted by the key word – USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST below

1. Review the Existing Archive log State
conn sys as sysda
archive log list;
2. Review or Update the Archive Log Parameters namely

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 (We will set this to FRA)
LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT (OPTIONAL as the Default value could be used )
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_1
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_2
LOG_ARCHIVE_MIN_SUCCEED_DEST
3. Shutdown in Immediate
4. Start the Database in Mount Mode
4. Enable Archive log
5. Open the Database
Now the Database is in Archivelog Mode and can be verified using the Archive Log List Command
